Parallel Subspace Sampling for Particle Filtering in Dynamic Bayesian Networks

چکیده
Abstract Monitoring the variables of dynamic systems is a difficult task due to their inherent complexity and uncertainty. Particle Filters (PF) perform that task, yielding probability distribution over the unobserved variables. However, they suffer from the curse of dimensionality problem: the number of particles grows exponentially with the dimensionality of the hidden state space. The problem is aggravated when the initial distribution of the variables is not well known, as happens in global localization problems. We present a new parallel PF for systems whose variable dependencies can be factored into a Dynamic Bayesian Network (DBNs). The new algorithms significantly reduce the number of particles, while independently exploring different subspaces of hidden variables to build particles consistent with past history and measurements.

Implementation and Evaluation of Exact and Approximate Dynamic Bayesian Network Inference Algorithms -- CS731 Term Project
Particle filtering is currently an area of intensive study. Because it is a sampling algorithm, particle filtering can be used easily with hybrid and continuous Dynamic Baysian Network (DBN)s. However, particle filtering is not a panacea for all dynamic Bayesian networks. In this project, we implemented three alternative inference algorithms for DBNs, namely, unrolling with generic variable eli...
متن کاملSevere-Dynamic Tracking Problems Based on Lower Particles Resampling
For a target as it with large-dynamic-change which is still challenging for existing methods to perform robust tracking; the sampling-based Bayesian filtering often suffer from computational complexity associated with large number of particle demanded and weighing multiple hypotheses. Specifically, this work proposes a neural auxiliary Bayesian filtering scheme based on Monte Carlo resampling t...
متن کاملSmoothed Particle Filtering for Dynamic Bayesian Networks
Particle filtering (PF) for dynamic Bayesian networks (DBNs) with discrete-state spaces includes a resampling step which concentrates samples according to their relative weight in regions of interest of the state-space. We propose a more systematic approach than resampling based on regularisation (smoothing) of the empirical distribution associated with the samples, using the kernel method. We ...
متن کاملRelational Dynamic Bayesian Networks
Stochastic processes that involve the creation of objects and relations over time are widespread, but relatively poorly studied. For example, accurate fault diagnosis in factory assembly processes requires inferring the probabilities of erroneous assembly operations, but doing this efficiently and accurately is difficult. Modeled as dynamic Bayesian networks, these processes have discrete varia...
متن کاملA discrete kernel sampling algorithm for DBNs
Particle filtering (PF) is a powerful sampling-based inference algorithm for dynamic Bayesian networks (DBNs) with discrete-state spaces. In its operation, the main principle is a recursive generation of samples (particles) which approximate the distributions of the unknowns. This generation of samples includes a resampling step that concentrates samples according to their relative weight in re...
